Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer you will primarily be responsible for the day to day management and operation of the Development department providing technical expertise, leadership and guidance.  You will lead development staff across multiple locations, ensuring that all development and maintenance activities occur within the context of an overall enterprise architecture and development plan.

  • Fostering a performance culture where developers are passionate, outcome driven, quality driven and constantly looking to improve
  • Driving engagement between the Development and Architecture teams to ensure alignment to architectural principles, governing root/trunk level changes, driving a feedback loop to enable developers to be more productive
  • Defining and managing individual and team goals, career development and training plans as part of Performance Management process
  • Oversight and validation of technical solutions
  • Recruitment and resource management (project teams, conflicts, cross-team dependencies)
  • Facilitating on-time delivery of projects
  • Experience with developing DevOps teams
  • Strong demonstrated experience with CI/CD and Test Driven Development approaches
  • Experience with developing global SaaS based products
  • Management of globally distributed engineering teams
  • Experience with managing Agile teams
  • Ideally possess experience in Java, Javascript, Angular, AWS, SQL and NoSQL (MongoDB)

Essential skills and experience include:

  • Proven experience in leading and managing a large software engineering team in the design and delivery of leading edge, commercially saleable software.
  • Strong knowledge of architectures, technologies, frameworks and concepts/patterns 
  • Significant software design/engineering experience
  • Outstanding, up-to-date technical skills to allow for hands on management of software development.
